Project Spotlight: A Sustainable Future for Hull’s Significant Maritime Past
The next iPHA Project Spotlight will discuss the North End Shipyard Visitor Centre. The building is unique in its aspirations and challenges and is set to become the UK’s first Passivhaus museum visitor centre.
The site presented multiple challenges, including flood resilience, a constrained site limiting building placement and form, a historically significant setting, and an expansive north-facing glazing overlooking a dry-docked fishing trawler. The presentation will furthermore feature an innovative structural solution for thermal bridges with the balcony cantilevering from the ground floor concrete walls. The result seamlessly integrates visitor experience with technical excellence, and without compromising Passivhaus principles.
After the presentation, there will be a Q&A session with the possibility of discussing details with the speakers.
One session at 6 pm CEST.
