Introducing MEET: The embodied energy Passive House toolset
Designing a building means making important decisions early on that will have a lasting effect for decades. But what aspects have the most significant climate impact across a residential building's life cycle, and how can we tackle them early in the planning phase?
This webinar offers a practical introduction to life cycle thinking in construction, focusing on manufacturing energy and related greenhouse gas emissions. You'll learn where the most significant leverage points lie for climate-friendly planning and how to evaluate and visualise environmental impacts using tools developed by the Passive House Institute.
Three different tools will be presented – from easy-to-use online tools for Building Assembly Comparison and the LCA Calculator to the in-depth Excel-based MEET tool, which is linked to the PHPP. These tools help building owners and planners make more informed choices on construction systems and materials, based on data, not gut feeling.
This session will give you a hands-on overview of how MEET can support better decisions and stronger climate outcomes in the building sector.
As always, the Q&A session after the presentation will be the perfect place to ask our expert how to best apply the MEET toolset to your projects and any other questions you might have.
