About the Trainer accreditation
Passive House Trainers are instructors for the education programmes of the Passive House
Institute. They are part of the course provider team or are course providers themselves. The
additional Trainer seal is awarded after conclusion of an agreement with PHI.
This course covers both didactic principles and in-depth technical developments in Passive House design and construction.
It enables participants to teach and communicate these topics effectively.
Prerequisites for the acquisition of the additional Trainer seal are:
- A valid Passive House Designer/Consultant certificate obtained by passing the
Passive House Designer / Consultant exam.
- iPHA membership.
- Profound knowledge and experience regarding Passive Houses, building physics and
building sites (min 1 certified Passive House project).
- Experience in the field of further education / training / lectures.
- 3 professional recommendations from: experienced Passive House Professionals,
Certifier, Course Providers.
- Completion of the "Train the Trainer" course, offered by the PHI.
- Conclusion of an agreement with the PHI.

in February: 04 February 2026, 11 February 2026, 18 February 2026, 25 February 2026
in March: 04 March 2026, 11 March 2026, 18 March 2026, 25 March 2026
in April: 01 April 2026, 08 April 2026, 15 April 2026, 22 April 2026, 29 April 2026
in May: 06 May 2026
